Ingredients:
1 c. butter
1/2 lb. (8 oz.) cream cheese
2 c. flour, sifted
1/4 tsp. salt
Confectioners sugar
Pitted dates
1 lb. creamed cottage cheese may be substituted for cream cheese

Directions:
Cream butter and cheese together. Blend in flour and salt. Chill for several hours or until firm enough to handle. Take tablespoon of dough and wrap around the date, completely covering it. Bake in moderate oven at 400 degrees for 20 minutes if desired. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar. (For variety, substitute nuts or candied cherries for the dates).
