Beverage Recipes>Orange Cordial RecipeIngredients: 12 oranges, 3/4 lb. lump sugar. Directions: Put the sugar into a clean saucepan. Grate off the orange part of the rinds of 6 oranges and sprinkle over the sugar. Now moisten the sugar with as much water as it will absorb. Boil gently to a clear syrup. Add the juice from the oranges, stir well, and pour into clean, hot, dry bottles. Cork tightly and cover with sealing-wax or a little plaster-of-Paris mixed with water and laid on quickly. Add any quantity preferred to cold or hot water to prepare beverage, or use neat as sauce for puddings.
